Married to Dani(ela) with one son (Sam), Simon resides in Austria, just outside Saalbach Hinterglemm where skiing and travel has played a huge part in his life. Starting as a seasonnaire in 1994 as a waiter/cleaner in an Austrian hotel, with some hard work and lots of fun along the way became director and board member of one of the largest UK's school tour operators and served on the committee of the School Travel Forum (STF). Simon is a proud Co-Founder and Director of True North.
I'm going to make this short and hope that you will get to know me and the team more through our interactions. For years I've been asking myself the same questions, what do people want? and what do people value?, and my answer is to keep asking these two questions, act, try new things, and then repeat - this is what I find fascinating. Sam often asks me what I do for a living, which is nice and I hope he gets to see a lot more of what I do over the years, but my answer is "I don't do anything, but WE make skiing memories", this works for an eight year old and the expression on his face is priceless, naturally the hidden message is slightly missed, but Sam's imagination and questions make up for this as he interacts and shares the vision in his mind.
I'm a big believer in treating others the way I like to be treated myself, it has done me well so far, share some imagination and add great service and that is what True North is all about. Progress and access is close to my heart and you will see from our partners that this is very much an underlying theme at True North, mix that with fun, adrenaline, friends & colleagues on an amazing alpine backdrop and it makes for an intoxicating cocktail.
