Our Booking Pledge

We understand that when booking a trip you need assurance that should it not be able to go ahead as planned that your groups money is safe and that your Tour Operator will act with integrity.

Despite our best efforts the school travel industry have been unable to secure insurance cover against non FCDO issues, such as the Department for Education (DfE) restricting or banning international trips, local lockdowns, isolation periods etc. No commercial insurer will provide this cover although we believe that schemes such as The RPA and other school insurers may cover these eventualities. In the event of any DfE restrictions being in place that could disrupt your trip we pledge to ensure that we will work with you to either postpone your trip to a later date or issue you with as much of a refund as we are able to recover from our suppliers.

Unlike many other operators True North operates a trust account financial model, where all monies received from customers are paid directly into a stand-alone trust account (Travel Trust Association Consumer Protection). In the pre departure phase of your booking the monies you have paid us can only be used in regard to certain elements of your booking i.e. flight tickets, accommodation deposits etc, and is only released on approval from the 3rd party trustees under the strict criteria that these elements of your trip are protected and insured against potential failure. Therefore, if a refund is due the balance of the funds is immediately available. This has been our approach throughout the pandemic and we have always acted in the best interests of our clients to deliver a solution that is fair.

We will do our very best to make sure your trip is everything you expect it to be. Occasionally we might need to change or withdraw some facilities and resort services as local rules change. Wherever we can, we’ll let you know about this in advance, but sometimes it might be at very short notice.

  • Full cash refund* or deferral of your tour to a future date should FCDO advice be in place for your destination 30 days prior to departure, providing your payments are up to date.

  • Full cash refund* or deferral if quarantine of more than 24hrs is required on arrival at destination, providing your payments are up to date.

  • Full cash refund* or deferral if social distancing regulations or other restrictions in resort make group travel unfeasible within 30 days of your departure.

*Refunds only applies to group cancellation and where payment schedules have been adhered to.
